Position: Assistant Principal

Purpose of Role: The Assistant Principal promotes high school scholar achievement, fosters a positive scholar and staff culture, ensures operational efficiency, and engages the school community through effective management, coaching, and leadership.

The role is vital to our culture and commitment to rigorous, engaging learning experiences.

Reports To: Principal

Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Management: Exhibit leadership for school progress and success indicators.
2. Coaching & Professional Development: Support staff through relationship building, observation, and feedback to meet performance goals.
3. Academic Achievement: Drive scholar success by implementing rigorous curriculum and maintaining high teaching standards.
4. Scholar Support: Support academic excellence through subject guidance, progress tracking, and special projects.
5. School Culture: Implement behavior policies and develop interventions for student conduct.
6. School Operations: Coordinate with internal units and vendors for smooth daily operations.
7. Community Engagement: Foster family involvement via meetings, performances, and volunteer activities.
8. Innovation: Develop and share innovative solutions and best practices.

Professional Qualities

Demonstrate grit, excellence, alignment with mission, and self-reflection.

Requirements

• Fluency in English
• PGCE or similar degree (SP & FET)
• Knowledge of Matric and FET curricula
• SACE registration
• Clean criminal record
• 3-4 years of classroom instruction in high school
• Leadership experience in primary or high school
