Job summary

A leading company in Nelspruit is seeking an experienced Chargehand Workshop to oversee maintenance processes for industrial machinery. The ideal candidate will have a Red Seal Trade Millwright qualification and extensive experience in a factory environment. This physically demanding role requires strong fault-finding skills and the ability to work long hours. Candidates should be reliable and live close to Nelspruit, as standby duties are required.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a large factory environment.
• Experience with maintenance processes for industrial machinery.

Job description

Chargehand Workshop - Nelspruit

Qualifications:

• Red Seal Trade Millwright
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a large factory environment
• PLC courses / certificates (beneficial)

Job Requirements:

• Good fault-finding skills, electrical and mechanical
• Knowledge of Boilers, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLCs, and VSDs
• Own reliable transport
• Experience with maintenance processes for industrial machinery
• Fabrication of mechanical components
• Fault-finding and repair of industrial machinery
• Overhauling of electrical and mechanical sub-assemblies and machines
• Installation and commissioning of industrial machinery
• Must live close to Nelspruit (standby duties)
• Good mechanical skills to assist with electrical and mechanical breakdowns
• Physically fit, as the position involves a lot of physical work and long hours at times
• Experience with world-class manufacturing systems is beneficial
• Previous supervision experience is beneficial
