Job Description: Product Manager (South African Market)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead as Product Manager in the South African Market and support activities within a Product Owner capacity when necessary.
- Understand and research customer needs, market trends, and potential partnerships, focusing on cost vs revenue perspectives.
- Collaborate with the Head of Product to develop the Product Strategy for South Africa and translate it into detailed requirements and prototypes.
- Participate in product and business planning across different business units.
- Gather and analyze requirements in collaboration with business analysts and stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and design solutions.
- Ensure product deadlines are met and keep stakeholders informed of important updates.
- Maintain high standards of reliability, quality, and usability during product phases, adhering to measurement metrics.
- Develop go-to-market strategies with the Head of Product and marketing teams.
- Measure and report on product launch success using qualitative and quantitative metrics.
- Coordinate and manage product-aligned business strategies for execution.
- Support the build and delivery of products and services, including digital apps, APIs, and data solutions, to advance our digital strategy.
Requirements:
- 7-10 years of experience in Product Management, particularly in Fintech, Ecommerce, or Online Marketplace products.
- Experience with early-stage products is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of the South African market, user experience, and market dynamics.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
- Proven ability to analyze and translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Skilled in product management tools and technologies for effective prioritization and strategy.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams including designers, engineers, business, and marketing professionals.
- Strong business acumen and analysis skills.
- Experience launching digital and physical products in emerging markets.
- Understanding of human-centered and service design concepts, with collaboration with UX/UI teams.
- Fluency in technology trends relevant to the African context to promote adoption and inspire teams.
This position is a permanent, fully remote role with a salary up to R1 million per annum, negotiable based on skills and experience. The reference number for this position is LJ.
