Manage Self : Professional
Job Purpose
To enable change by defining the needs and the rationale for change, understanding the current state, defining the future state, and determining the activities required to transition from the current to the future state by applying business analysis principles, requirements classification, and an agile mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct iterative planning and monitoring to estimate, organize, and coordinate Business Analysis efforts on large/complex initiatives.
- Engage stakeholders through elicitation and collaboration to gather information.
- Analyze requirements and define designs to structure, specify, and model solutions.
- Manage the requirements lifecycle from inception to retirement.
- Conduct strategy analysis to define future states and transition plans.
- Evaluate solutions to assess performance and value, and eliminate barriers.
- Apply IIBA best practices, agile delivery, and lean principles according to Nedbank's approach.
- Document requirements considering changes in users, interfaces, processes, data flows, and non-functional aspects.
- Align requirements with strategic themes, product roadmaps, KPIs, and metrics.
- Explore opportunities and define solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Use visual tools and collaborative techniques to model scope, interfaces, and dependencies.
- Own decomposition of epics, features, and stories, including acceptance criteria.
- Support process and capability alignment through collaboration with Process Engineers and Business Architects.
- Assist teams with impediments, spikes, and enabler stories.
- Work with Development and QA teams on test cases, UAT, and change management.
- Participate in backlog refinement, prioritization, and planning activities.
- Foster stakeholder relationships and lead program ceremonies.
- Drive continuous deployment, early risk remediation, and waste reduction.
Qualifications
- Essential: Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees, Safe or Scrum certification, Business Analysis certification endorsed by IIBA, 5-8 years of BA experience managing multiple IT projects.
- Preferred: Additional certifications in Agile/Scrum, research methodology, design thinking, business writing, data analysis, process engineering.
Skills & Knowledge
- Business analysis techniques, stakeholder engagement, and requirements management.
- Proficiency in Jira/Confluence, Microsoft Office, and research methodologies.
- Understanding of Agile concepts, process engineering, and decision-making.
- Strong communication, partnership-building, and technical skills.
