The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic and financial leadership in a commercial, profitable, and sustainable manner.
The role is accountable for directing Mintek's financial affairs, including oversight of the Finance Division, Campus Management Support (CMS) Division, and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Division, ensuring these enable Mintek's strategy through operational efficiency, digital transformation, and effective infrastructure stewardship.

Duties & Responsibilities
Key Performance Indicators:
- Strategic Leadership
- Foster a culture of financial excellence and lead a sustainable partnership between finance and all divisional areas.
- Provide strategic leadership and advice to the organization’s leadership and the Board, responding to changing financial and economic landscapes.
- Integrate economic, environmental, and social factors into decision-making to create value.
- Develop and implement operational, commercial, and financial strategies for growth.
- Promote transformation and BBBEE positioning.
- Ensure divisional KPIs and strategic information are provided to drive growth and sustainability.
- Communicate effectively to foster high performance and development.
- Ensure policies and systems develop management capabilities.
- Develop strategies for sustainable success and growth, including financial analysis and investment support.
- Maintain effective financial models and supply chain policies to optimize operations and reduce costs.
- Ensure internal controls, anti-corruption measures, and financial sustainability through accurate reporting and cash flow management.
Campus Management Support (CMS) Leadership
- Lead strategic planning and operational effectiveness of campus facilities.
- Oversee infrastructure, asset management, and sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Promote collaboration across campus services for operational excellence.
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Leadership
- Guide ICT strategy aligned with digital transformation goals.
- Oversee ICT systems, innovation, cybersecurity, and talent development.
People and Planning
- Ensure adequate resourcing, staff development, and succession planning.
- Align strategy with market needs and monitor performance.
Governance, Compliance, and Risk Management
- Develop policies, manage risks, and ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Promote a safe working environment and ethical conduct.
Relationship Building and Management
- Engage stakeholders, including clients, regulators, and communities.
- Lead stakeholder relations and reporting to shareholders and the board.
Reporting
- Ensure statutory, financial, and regulatory reporting standards are met.
- Provide regular financial health reports to the Board and leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum qualifications include a BCOM Accounting or equivalent, CA registration with SAICA, and postgraduate qualifications (MBA or MCOMM preferred).
- At least 10 years' senior financial management experience, including 5 years in executive roles overseeing facilities and ICT strategy.
- Industry knowledge, management experience, and international engagement are essential.
