The Road Accident Fund's mission is to provide appropriate cover to all road users within South Africa; to rehabilitate and compensate persons injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents in a timely and caring manner; and to actively promote safe use of our roads.

Purpose of the Job:

Reporting to the Senior Manager: Business Analytics and Continuous Improvement, the successful incumbent is accountable for gathering, analyzing, and evaluating business requirements, user needs, and functions, using accredited methodologies and supporting software, with the objectives of improving business processes and procedures and automating processes and routing activities.

Key Performance Areas:
  1. Policy Review and Implementation: Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policy, procedures, and processes. Keep up to date with effective policy and practice execution strategies.
  2. Business Needs And Requirements: Gather, analyze, document, and validate user requirements with signoff.
  3. Feasibility Studies: Conduct research, identify benchmarks, and apply best practices to document proposals and make recommendations.
  4. Design Solution Proposal: Design business processes, system data flow, and technical specifications; schedule JAD sessions for signoff; ensure system integration.
  5. System Testing: Analyze change requests, assist in impact analysis, document and facilitate bug fixing, and support system performance testing and user acceptance testing.
  6. System Training: Support system testing phases, document bugs, facilitate sign-off.
  7. Reporting: Develop and maintain reporting systems, ensure timely report delivery, and prepare management reports and documentation.
  8. Documentation: Maintain system specifications and design documents, ensure quality audits.
  9. Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with stakeholders, handle inquiries, liaise with vendors, and present data findings clearly.
Qualifications And Experience:

Bachelor's Degree / Advanced Diploma in relevant IT fields, with certifications in System Analysis and Design and ITIL (advantageous). 5-7 years' experience in requirements gathering, system analysis, and design environment.

Technical And Behavioral Competencies:

Resilience, communication, stakeholder engagement, planning, decision-making, client service, change management, conflict management, critical thinking, policy conceptualization, risk management, project management, and knowledge of UML & tools like Rational.
