Overall responsibility for the management and delivery of maintenance teams across the hotel, aiming to maximize machine, infrastructure, and facilities availability, as well as overseeing building repairs and maintenance. This includes managing the maintenance helpdesk through planning and implementing effective maintenance systems aligned with company standards and property grading standards. The role also involves identifying, managing, and reviewing cost leadership opportunities, and managing all capital maintenance and development projects related to operational upgrades.

- Understand the development and maintenance plans for the hotel, aligning maintenance and development project plans and timelines accordingly.
- Develop objectives for hotel maintenance and development deliverables.
- Facilitate project management plans for the 12-month period for the hotel.
- Identify risks and investigate new development, energy-saving opportunities for the property.
- Conduct risk analyses regarding impact on short-term profit margins versus long-term sustainability.
- Communicate with all relevant stakeholders internally at unit and group levels, including external parties.
- Perform daily building and ground walkabouts of the property.
- Coordinate building maintenance and repairs.
- Manage plant maintenance and upgrades according to the 5-year plan.
- Oversee mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance and repairs, following preventative maintenance schedules (3, 6, and 12 months).
- Maintain building fabric, fixtures, fittings, and mechanical services, including repairs and renewals.
- Implement business continuity planning.
- Manage emergency call-out systems and alarm-related responses.
- Compile and implement fire safety procedures, including equipment inspections and compliance.
- Manage staff appearance and the functioning of equipment and systems.

- Ensure maintenance and engineering standards are developed, communicated, and audited regularly.
- Oversee SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) department requirements and processes.
- Align practices with legislative compliance regarding health, hygiene, safety, and environmental standards.
- Implement control measures, systems, and checks with departments to mitigate financial risks.
- Conduct weekly walkabouts to monitor compliance in front and back of house areas.
- Promote waste management culture and staff training.
- Collaborate with hotel managers to manage the maintenance budget, including CAPEX, PIP, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Monitor and approve project expenditures, assess deviations, and report to stakeholders.
- Engage with internal customers to understand challenges and repair requirements.
