We Want You

Are you ready to be our dedicated “eyes on glass,” safeguarding our digital realm as a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst? As a SOC Analyst, you’ll be on the frontlines, monitoring BET Software’s systems, analyzing security events, and ensuring no suspicious activities go unnoticed. You will also update and create relevant documentation to support security operations.

Your responsibilities include continuous monitoring, reviewing security events, validating findings, escalating critical issues, and reporting events of interest according to established protocols. This role is essential for maintaining a secure environment, and we are looking for someone serious about shaping a safe digital landscape.

You Bring

• Matric or equivalent certification.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in a Security (SOC) role; three (3) years preferred in Support.
• Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Security Event Correlation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
• Understanding of security standards and risk management.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Proactive multi-tasking skills.
• Technical acumen to interpret specifications.
• Security+ certification is beneficial but not required.

What You’ll Do

• This position involves shift work with a rotational schedule, operating 24/7, 365 days a year.
• Monitor and analyze cybersecurity events and network traffic to detect threats.
• Investigate security breaches to identify root causes and escalate issues appropriately.
• Monitor services including SIEM, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls, DLP, and Databases.
• Correlate security events and report risks to relevant teams.
• Stay informed on current IT security trends and news.
• Recognize potential and actual intrusion attempts, assisting colleagues with security software and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure all security tools are functioning properly and recommend security enhancements.
• Update knowledge base documents and handle escalations efficiently.
• Close alerts at the end of each shift and document investigation details.
• Identify trends and proactive measures to mitigate threats.
• Utilize advanced analytics to detect emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
