Job description

This intimate Lodge, located on one of South Africa's most pristine Big Five game reserves, consists of 8 intimate luxury suites. If you have a love for wildlife, conservation, and storytelling, this may be the role for you.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS :

  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a Field Guide in a Big 5 Game Reserve
  • A valid RSA ID is required
  • A valid drivers licence with PrDP is required
  • Relevant FGASA qualifications required. Minimum of NQF 1
  • A proven track record within a luxury hotel / lodge environment
  • Self-disciplined, punctual and respectful.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for international guests with diverse cultures. Must have an outgoing hosting personality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for staff, being respectful of their culture. A basic knowledge of Tswana or another African language is recommended.
  • Must be familiar with basic vehicle maintenance in order to communicate with the maintenance team to troubleshoot problems
  • Must be familiar with how to drive in a variety of on- and off-road conditions.
  • Must be familiar with radio etiquette and able to ensure that radio conversations are kept short and direct, with no unnecessary chatter.
  • Good initiative to cope with difficult situations in a remote environment.
  • A valid first aid training certificate.
  • 21 days on 7 days off work cycle

Live-in. Uniform & meals will be provided. (Pets will not be allowed due to the nature of the environment.)

Salary ranges from R8500 to R10500. 5% provident fund is available (compulsory)
