Job description

Job Purpose

To prepare and deliver exceptional beverage services within the banqueting and/or restaurant operations, ensuring continuous achievement and professional execution of internal (SOP) standards.

Key Performance Areas
  1. Prepared Work Area
  2. Prepare mise-en-place and conduct checks and preparations for service
  3. Identify issues with bar display and surrounding areas regarding appearance and equipment functioning
  4. Stock bar for service
  5. Check cleanliness of own section or station
Service Execution
  1. Stay updated on food products, trends, and drinks methodologies to deliver menus effectively
  2. Follow Food & Beverage SOPs in all tasks
  3. Take guest orders accurately and promptly, and record in the system
  4. Explain menu items and recommend beverages
  5. Mix drinks and present beverages according to guest orders and outlet standards
  6. Attend to guest requests attentively
  7. Clear glasses after guests finish their drinks
  8. Provide billing and conduct cash-ups at end of service
  9. Complete beverage stock sheets each shift
  10. Upsell promotional items whenever possible
Bar Standards
  1. Adhere to F&B SOPs
  2. Comply with health, safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations
  3. Use and store equipment safely and according to specifications
  4. Participate in stock takes and conduct daily stock counts
  5. Report anomalies and breakages appropriately
Customer Engagement
  1. Provide warm welcomes, friendly greetings, and respectful interactions with guests
  2. Engage with guests professionally, providing solutions and understanding preferences
  3. Educate guests on facilities, products, rewards, and promotions
  4. Handle complaints, requests, and suggestions effectively, escalating when necessary
Education

Grade 12 preferred; Grade 10 with relevant experience acceptable

Experience

Minimum 2 years as a bartender
