Location: Cape Town

Remuneration: Rneg + Ben

Qualifications: Industrial / Mechanical Engineering Diploma / Degree

Experience: 2 years in a manufacturing environment as Technician or Artisan; experience in the Textile Industry is an advantage. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles, Computer-Aided Design (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), and Excel (Super User).

Responsibilities:

1. Assist maintenance teams with regular inspections, maintenance, and repair of production machinery and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
2. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automation issues; take corrective actions.
3. Record maintenance logs and report issues to management or operations teams.
4. Support production processes, process improvement, quality control & testing, safety compliance, reporting & data analysis, inventory management, and energy management.
5. Apply mechanical and industrial engineering concepts to the textile industry.
6. Implement process optimization and cost reduction strategies.
