Job description

SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) is the leading independent provider of accredited Psychology, Counselling, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Social Work qualifications, with all courses grounded in psychology. We have campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online.

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Industrial Psychologist to join our academic team in a full-time, on-campus role in Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach five modules per term, within the Management and Leadership Faculty and/or the Applied Psychology Faculty.
  • Manage a portfolio of modules or programmes within the Management and Leadership Faculty, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for students.
  • Oversee part-time educators across campuses, who teach related modules or on related programs, within the faculty to maintain consistency in delivery and assessment.
  • Provide general academic support to on-campus part-time educators.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in curriculum design, assessment development, and educational content creation.
  • Actively contribute to SACAP’s Research and Ethics Committee, including reviewing Honours and Masters research proposals.
  • Engage in strategic collaboration with the Head of Campus and the Teaching & Learning leadership team to foster an innovative and supportive academic environment.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of campus culture amongst part-time educators.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Master’s degree in Industrial Psychology or related field.
  • HPCSA registration as an Industrial Psychologist is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience in higher education, with a strong understanding of the South African educational landscape and advancements in artificial intelligence.
  • Proficiency in curriculum development, academic writing, and digital learning technologies

The role will report to the Head of Learning and Teaching.

Operating Hours:

This position is apermanent with full-time hours operating from Mondays to Fridays as per the below hours*:
Mondays to Thursdays: 08:00am to 16:30pm
Fridays: 08:00am to 16:00pm

*Due to the nature of this role, there will be a need to work flexible hours to the extent to which it is reasonably necessary to perform the duties of the position.
