Job summary

Parkhurst Primary School seeks an experienced educator with a passion for Mathematics to join our Intersen Phase team. The successful candidate will teach across Mathematics, Geography, Life Orientation, PSWB and Physical Education, bringing energy and subject expertise.

This temporary appointment runs from 1 October 2026 to 31 December 2026, with potential renewal for 2027, subject to operational needs and SGB approval.

Qualifications

• Four-year teaching degree required.
• Permanent SACE registration required.
• Proven teaching experience in the Intersen Phase (Grades 4–9), with strong grounding in Mathematics.
• Sound subject knowledge, classroom management ability, and a learner-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Teach across Mathematics, Geography, Life Orientation, and PSWB/Physical Education for Intersen Phase.
• Contribute to learner development and collaborative planning within the team.

TEACHING REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 7 Mathematics
• Grade 7 Geography
• Grade 7 Life Orientation
• Grade 6 Personal and Social Well-Being and Physical Education

MINIMUM POST REQUIREMENTS

• A recognised four (4)-year teaching degree
• Permanent SACE (South African Council for Educators) registration
• Proven teaching experience in the Intersen Phase (Grades 4–9), with a strong grounding in Mathematics
• Sound subject knowledge, classroom management ability, and a collaborative, learner-centred approach
