Job title: Educational Technologist

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide training and support to academic staff (and occasionally students) to promote the adoption and development of online mediation skills on the LMS platform, enhancing the student learning experience.
- Support the Academic team and students to participate in a blended learning environment, collaborating with other Educational Technologists on planning, problem-solving, and LMS issues, including coverage during leave or vacancies.
Support & Development of Lecturers on Campus:
- Design lecturer development processes, including analyzing LMS analytics and facilitating feedback.
- Establish benchmarks from LMS analytics to improve lecturer engagement.
- Contribute to peer reviews and continuous tech development plans.
- Implement training workshops for both independent contractors and permanent lecturers on the LMS.
- Conduct onboarding training for new lecturers and implement a buddy-system for new staff.
- Collaborate with Ed Tech, academic, and national teams to ensure effective training strategies.
Quality Assurance of EdTech Experience on Campus:
- Assess the effectiveness of LMS training for students and their ability to navigate and engage.
- Evaluate lecturer development progress and report areas for improvement.
- Update workshop materials and maintain resources in the LMS Knowledge Base.
Promoting Online Engagement Culture on Campus:
- Implement policies and strategies related to Ed Tech adoption.
- Manage change related to educational technology strategies.
- Build communities of best practice to promote online engagement.
- Support the uptake of new T&L developments focused on blended learning.
- Facilitate T&L discussions among peers using various mediums.
Online Facilitation:
- Facilitate one module per semester and one module per year for the Online Centre (optional).
EdTech Development:
- Stay updated with industry benchmarks through courses, conferences, and reading.
Research & Scholarship:
- Promote a culture of scholarship and contribute to the institution's research output targets.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (e.g., B.Com, B.Ed., BSc) with postgraduate diploma, honours, or equivalent experience.
- Higher postgraduate qualifications (e.g., Med, MA, MPhil, PhD) are preferred.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
- At least 2 years as an Educational Technologist and 1 year of lecturing/teaching experience if no postgraduate qualification.
