Job summary

Placements24 in Vereeniging is seeking an Educational Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological support for students, educators, and parents across Gauteng schools.

Role involves assessments, interventions, counseling, and collaboration with teachers and families, with flexible on-site and remote support. Registration with HPCSA and a Master’s in Educational/Clinical Psychology are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Educational Psychology or Clinical Psychology with a specialization in education.
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Educational Psychologist.
• Proven experience in psycho-educational assessments and therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents.
• Strong knowledge of child development, learning theories, and psychopathology.
• Excellent report writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological assessments to identify learning disabilities, cognitive strengths, and emotional/behavioral concerns.
• Develop and implement tailored intervention strategies and support plans for students.
• Provide counseling and support services to students, addressing anxiety, depression and peer relationships.
• Consult with teachers and parents, offering guidance on managing behavior and supporting learning at home and school.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders to ensure comprehensive student care.
• Contribute to psycho-educational workshops for school communities.
