About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Editorial Services Manager to join our Regional Publishing Services team based in Midrand. The successful candidate will work closely with other departments to streamline processes and deliver high-quality services, managing projects efficiently and maintaining high standards of quality.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Editorial Services Team, fostering a collaborative environment and guiding team members.
  2. Manage recruitment, performance, training, and conflict resolution within the team.
  3. Facilitate communication across departments, building effective relationships.
  4. Manage operations, resources, project delivery, and risk mitigation.
  5. Drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and development.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in publishing studies or a related field.
  • Management training or qualification (advantageous).
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in editorial/publishing, with at least 2 years in management.
  • Knowledge of the education sector (advantageous).
  • Proven experience in book production, editorial work, and project management across various subjects.
  • Advanced computer skills and ability to leverage technology for productivity.
  • Strong delegation, strategic, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid, deadline-driven environment.
