Job description

Leading a national FMCG distributor requires a dynamic General Sales Manager to manage and develop strategies across three different channels.

The role involves working closely with and reporting directly to the CEO.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Management or a related field
  • Experience in conducting performance evaluations
  • Working knowledge of human resources processes
  • Proficiency in QlikView and Advanced Excel

Key Duties:

  • Business and product development
  • Ensure all sales teams operate productively and maximize sales across all principals represented by the company
  • Drive compliance of all outlets nationally to above 80%, especially with the top 15 principals
  • Build relationships with principal key accounts and main management
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders and buyers across all sales divisions
  • Manage van sales and telesales
  • Set strategies and sales targets
  • Coordinate telesales and sales force efforts
  • Structure sales clusters for maximum efficiency and productivity, aligning with operations
  • Foster collaboration between sales and accounts departments for organizational benefit
  • Motivate and cultivate a positive sales culture
  • Mentor and develop Sales Managers and staff
  • Review senior staff performance monthly
  • Aim to grow sales by at least 10% annually on a case-by-case basis
