Job Location : North West, Potchefstroom

Key Responsibilities :

1. Teaching & Learning: All undergraduate teaching and learning, post-graduate supervision, preferably with specialisation in Afrikaans & English creative writing modules.
2. Research and Creative Writing: Conduct individual research and creative writing, preferably specialising in Afrikaans and English literature; review research articles and scholarly contributions; collaborate on subject group projects in creative writing and research.
3. Management and University Services: Perform management tasks and duties in service of the university as needed.
4. Community Involvement: Assist in organising subject group and school community engagement projects.

Qualifications and Experience :

• PhD in Literature and/or Creative Writing
• At least 2 years’ teaching experience at a tertiary institution in literary studies and/or creative writing
• Evidence of at least 1 article or creative writing output

Added Advantages & Preferences :

• Membership in relevant Afrikaans and/or English literary and/or writers’ societies
• 2 years’ experience in postgraduate study guidance at a tertiary institution in literary and/or creative writing
