Job Description

Scope of position

The Linen Supervisor supports the daily operations of the laundry and linen department, ensuring timely and high-quality processing of all linens and uniforms for guests, staff, and management. Reporting to the Linen Manager, this role oversees laundry staff, maintains cleanliness and safety standards, and assists in tracking linen movement, inventory control, and equipment upkeep. The Linen Supervisor also provides financial and administrative support, helping to ensure cost-effective operations and accurate reporting.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service.
  • Clean laundry and other work area so that health standards are met.
  • Sort clothing and other articles, load washing machines, and iron and fold dried items.
  • Sort, count, and mark clean linens and store them in linen closets.
  • Empty wastebaskets and linen to relevant areas.
  • Clean rugs, carpets and draperies using vacuum cleaners and shampooers.
  • Keep storage area and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
  • Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.
  • Replenish supplies, such as bathroom items andlinens.
  • Disinfect equipment and supplies, using germicides or steam-operated sterilizers.
  • Observe precautions required to protect guest property and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors.
  • Request repair services and wait for repair workers to arrive.
  • Assign duties to other staff and give instructions regarding work methods and routines.
  • Run errands, such as taking laundry to the cleaners and or guest rooms.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
Qualifications
  • Previous experience is an asset.
  • Minimum of twoyear experience in a high-volume laundry /house keeping operations.
  • Guest focused with a passion for service and standards excellence.
  • Must be strong team player.
  • Basic knowledge of laundry operation
  • Highly organized, result oriented.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.
  • Must be able to work shifts.
