STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Summary of Job Classification : The Peer Training Specialist provides onboarding and localized training to court employees within their district. Additionally, the position is responsible for training-related projects and implementing statewide procedural changes when applicable.

The Peer Training Specialist position may office out of any of the three 14th District Court locations and will travel to provide onboarding and localized training to court employees within the district.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Creates and administers local onboarding plans.
  • Shows employees local resources, facilities, and introduces personnel to new employees.
  • Trains employees using hands-on direction and verbal coaching for court case processing, applying local practices.
  • Sits with employees during work on court dockets, at workstations, and shadows interactions with court customers.
  • Provides opportunities for learners to apply skills learned, reviews work, and gives feedback.
  • Schedules observation time of courtroom and clerk's office.
  • Assists in scheduling formal training for HR mandatory classes and court education training.
  • Mentors new or underperforming employees or divisions.
  • Informs supervisors or the Clerk of Court of performance issues and helps implement improvement plans.
  • Reinforces formal training and utilizes training activities created by Court Education Specialists.
  • Creates and maintains local work resources and job aides.
  • Responsible for promoting and marketing resources.
  • Works with data integrity reports and tracks district adherence.
  • Serves as a district liaison with the State Court Administrator's Office and other units.
  • Attends meetings, trainings, classes, and conferences to maintain knowledge and skills.
  • Participates in all state Peer Training Specialist programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Guidance and potential oversight of another employee, including work quality, training, and work assignments.

Providing advice and considering different points of view to reach agreements; elements of persuasion may be necessary.

Performs assignments with limited direction, manages special projects with little oversight, and reviews performance periodically.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years of experience in court processes and data management systems. Equivalent experience may be substituted.

Work-Related Experience: 2-3 years in court processes and data management; training employees preferred.

Licenses and Certifications: None required.

Physical Effort: Sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.

Work Environment: Office or similar indoor environment, relatively free from hazards.

Exposures: Hostile or irate individuals, individuals with violent backgrounds.
