Requirements :

• MBCHB or equivalent qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner. Registered with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner (Independent Practitioner) and completed community service. Current annual registration with HPCSA for 2023-2024 financial year.
• Grade 1: No experience after registration as Medical Practitioner with the HPCSA.
• Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years appropriate experience as Medical Practitioner after registration with the HPCSA.
• Grade 3: Minimum of 10 years appropriate experience as Medical Practitioner after registration with the HPCSA.
• Sound knowledge of clinical procedures and protocols.

Duties :

• Medical care of in- and outpatients, including admission and prescribing ward treatments.
• Performing special investigations: x-rays, blood tests, visual fields, OCT, refraction, and lens calculations.
• Assist specialists in theatre.
• Willing to work longer hours (night, weekend, and public holidays).
• Support Registrars and teach students.

• Positions are joint appointments between the Gauteng Department of Health and academic institutions such as the University of Witwatersrand, University of Pretoria, and Sefako Makgatho University.
