MAIN PURPOSE
Responsible for managing, developing, and performing Technical and Sales activities in the assigned market. Leads a technical and sales team, providing guidance to maximize profitability and growth aligned with the company's vision and values. Achieves maximum profitability, growth, and account penetration within the designated territory and/or market segment by effectively selling and supporting the company’s products and/or related services.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership

Sales & Service
- Manage sales and support of company products, services, and solutions within a specific geographic territory.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and stakeholder management.
- Achieve sales and technical budgets/forecasts.
- Meet and maintain sales budgets, including net profit.
- Monitor sales vs. budget monthly and implement plans to meet targets.
- Visit clients bi-weekly within the sales region.
- Complete call registers weekly.
- Identify sales and service opportunities.
- Utilize CRM effectively.
- Offer maintenance contracts upon sales completion.
- Negotiate and close sales and service deals.
- Provide daily quotations following the process.
- Follow up on quotes and outstanding orders.
- Log all opportunities in CRM.
- Conduct calls, visits, and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
- Address technical questions from customers and escalate when necessary.
- Ensure no customer complaints are received.
- Participate in external product training.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers.
- Conduct customer surveys every 3-6 months.
- Strive for customer-centric service.
- Provide competitive pricing and maintain profit margins.
- Communicate actively about market opportunities and pricing.
- Submit monthly sales forecasts by the 25th of each month.
- Resolve customer problems and complaints, informing management accordingly.
- Use action plans and meet deadlines, providing feedback to stakeholders.
- Ensure customer satisfaction scores above 80%.
- Involve relevant staff in site visits.
- Identify product improvements or new products based on industry trends.
- Register new product ideas or improvements through the company’s process.
- Maintain quality service standards.
- Host technical meetings and ensure all field service reports are up to date.
- Participate in trade shows and provide feedback on market conditions.
- Coordinate sales and service efforts with marketing, logistics, and technical teams.
- Update and communicate sales and service information regularly.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, payments, and forecasts.
- Develop business plans and sales strategies to meet company goals.
- Control expenses within budgets and ensure proper client engagement.
- Monitor sales versus budgets and implement corrective actions.
Administration
- Prepare and present bids and quotations aligning with customer expectations and project requirements.
- Complete tenders as per process and submit on time.
- Ensure professional presentation formats and test demo equipment prior to presentations.
- Approve sales bids and quotations before submission.
- Maintain documentation such as project plans and URS.
- Use CRM effectively for tracking and reporting.
- Involve management in high-value bids.
- Update regional PODs, outstanding payments, and stock levels regularly.
- Schedule visits and meetings with customers.
- Conduct customer surveys periodically.
- Log customer frustrations and market research data.
- Update SWOT analyses quarterly.
- Compile and submit monthly reports on sales, problems, forecasts, and projects.
- Attend monthly meetings and update relevant databases.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as required.
SHEQ
- Achieve 85% compliance on IMS and client SHE File audits.
- Implement SHEQ culture and manage contractors accordingly.
- Maintain and demonstrate commitment to QEHS policies.
- Ensure zero harm with no LTIs or fatalities.
- Manage waste and report incidents.
- Promote continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.
- Identify training needs and conduct SHEQ-related training.
- Ensure legal compliance and resource provision for SHEQ.
- Ensure leadership in SHEQ practices, including PPE provision and monitoring programs.
Quality
- Ensure product quality is maintained and not compromised.
- Maintain section 21 files and ensure client approval.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Matric
- Degree or recognized diploma in Marketing/Sales or similar qualification
- Formal technical training in Engineering, Mining, or Electronics
Experience
- At least 7 years’ experience in electronic sales, with 4 years at a senior level, preferably in the mining industry.
- Highly computer literate (Microsoft Office).
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Key Accounts Manager.
- Supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of company products and policies.
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
