Purpose of the Role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and eager-to-learn Junior Accountant to support our finance team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a solid foundation in accounting who is ready to grow within a business that values precision, teamwork, and proactive thinking. You will assist with daily financial tasks, help maintain accurate records, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the finance function.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with capturing and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Process and reconcile customer and supplier transactions
  • Support the month-end close process and account reconciliations
  • Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Help prepare VAT and tax returns under supervision
  • Monitor debtors and creditors and assist with invoicing and collections
  • Maintain proper documentation of payments and financial transactions
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team
  • Assist with ad hoc financial reporting and analysis
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and policies

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance (Diploma or BCom in progress or completed)
  • Certifications in Management Accounting, Financial Management, Tax, or other relevant fields will be advantageous

Experience

  • At least 1–2 years’ relevant experience in an accounting or finance support role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
  • Exposure to accounting software such as Xero or Zoho would be advantageous
  • Basic understanding of tax, VAT, and financial compliance will be beneficial
