Position Summary

With a history spanning over 150 years, Nestlé is a leading food and beverages brand. We are seeking a Distribution Center Manager based in Bellville to oversee warehouse staff, ensure safe and cost-effective service delivery, and develop a compliant distribution operation meeting all business needs.

A day in the life of a Distribution Center Manager:

1. Set and monitor KPIs for warehousing service and costs, ensuring excellent service at minimum cost, managing labor, and collaborating with stakeholders to define distribution operations.
2. Implement SHE, Quality, CARE, and Best Practices obligations, and manage change effectively.
3. Ensure flexibility in structures and processes to adapt to market changes.
4. Communicate proactively with internal and external customers to align cross-functional efforts.
5. Drive cost-saving initiatives, manage budgets, and negotiate contracts with service providers.
6. Collaborate with customers and departments to improve service and reduce bad goods.
7. Recruit, motivate, and manage the warehouse team, and oversee maintenance of facilities and equipment.
8. Support Value Stream Design and Lean initiatives for continuous improvement.

What Will Make You Successful

• Relevant degree or postgraduate diploma.
• At least 5 years of successful operational leadership in a warehouse, transport, or supply chain environment.
• Operational experience in customer service, demand and supply planning, finance, technical, production, or purchasing is beneficial.
• Experience managing projects like distribution network redesign or high-performance logistics is advantageous.
• Experience in Lean organizations and familiarity with Lean tools is desirable.
