Job description

Legal Secretary (RAF and High Court General Litigation), Pretoria (Muckleneuk), R25k Neg

  • Min 5 years’ exp in RAF and High Court General Litigation.
  • Proficient in CaseLines and Court Online – must be able to upload and manage Court bundles (virtual files) independently.
  • Confident in handling Sheriff’s instructions , follow-ups, and returns.
  • Fast and accurate typing speed (at least 55 wpm ).
  • Excellent knowledge of court forms , procedures, directives and time frames (Pretoria and Johannesburg High Courts).
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills – ability to manage multiple files, deadlines, and urgent tasks.
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to work well under pressure and without constant supervision.

Duties include (but not limited to) :

  • Drafting and typing legal documents and correspondence .
  • Managing attorney diaries, court dates, and file reminders (hardcopy and electronically) and maintaining file integrity.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all documents are correctly filed (physical and digital).
  • Liaising with clients, medical experts, courts, advocates, and sheriff’s offices .
  • Handling telephone calls, email correspondence and walk-in clients queries professionally.
  • Daily administrative and litigation support .
