Job requirements:
- Matric
- A recognized and relevant qualification (Electrician or technician + N5 / T3 / S3 / S4 National Diploma in Electrical Engineering Heavy Current / Light Current) or related experience
- At least 3 years of work experience specifically related to VSD and Soft Start service and repairs
- Experience in Control Systems, Process Engineering, Power Electronics, or Instrumentation is an advantage
- Computer literacy
Job responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for the Drives & Automation business
- Perform repairs and manage warranties
- Receive, analyze, and repair faulty units (Goods Returned Notes)
- Compile reports for clients and maintain proper records of repairs and returns
- Prepare and submit warranty claims
- Maintain records of all warranty claims
- Conduct modifications to switchgear when necessary
- Assist with drives spares stock control and warehousing
- Administer the service center, including maintaining ISO compliance and creating technical files
- Assist with customer quotations
- Create and update monthly technical reports
- Provide 24-hour technical support, including onsite support and troubleshooting
- Participate in site meetings and internal sales support
- Evaluate problems in specific applications and analyze schematic diagrams
- Attend to breakdowns or commissioning, which may require travel and overnight stays
- Commission and test panels at the company or with other Panel Builders
Specific requirements / additional information:
- Legal driver’s license
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Excellent communication skills, including formal presentations
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Customer service orientation with a sense of urgency
- Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays and cross-border support
- Hardworking, resourceful, ambitious, with good business acumen
- Availability to work beyond normal hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
