Business Development Executive – Main Duties: All Campaigns:

The Business Development Executive will be part of a dynamic team responsible for increasing delegate sales across conference portfolios by generating leads, communicating with conference delegates, and closing their participation in various annual conference campaigns.

The role involves building a network of conference delegates from various sectors based on the campaign. The executive is expected to meet weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets within a collaborative environment.

Role:

This entrepreneurial position requires the ability to think creatively, develop and execute sales strategies, work diligently, and focus on creating valuable products for the sectors served. The executive must be innovative, organized, informed about campaign news, possess strong communication skills, be detail-oriented, and ambitious.

The Business Development Executive reports to the Executive Director for Business Development and collaborates with marketing, production, customer service, operations, and database teams.

Key Accountabilities / Key Performance Indicators:

  • Achieve sales revenue targets within set timelines
  • Make effective calls or client meetings weekly
  • Report sales results and activities promptly and accurately

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Sell delegate packages to new and existing clients to meet revenue targets
  • Exceed sales targets for each event and generate new revenue streams
  • Maintain excellent customer relations and understand market and client bases
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to address specific issues
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities across campaigns

  • Seek new customers from relevant sources
  • Research and conduct sales campaigns to attract delegates
  • Coordinate with other departments to maximize sales
  • Attend sector-specific events for networking and business development

Reporting:

  • Provide weekly activity and forecast reports to the Event Director
  • Update CRM with sales activities and calls
  • Report progress weekly, monthly, and quarterly to senior management
  • Share market intelligence with marketing
  • Monitor market trends, gather customer feedback, and attend industry events
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments to enhance client experience
