Position Title: Mid-Level Health Research Assistant (South Africa)

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Mid-Level Health Research Assistant to join our dynamic and international team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience and expertise in gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health research. This role requires a candidate who is not only knowledgeable but also passionate about contributing to impactful research in these critical areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the design, implementation, and management of a multi-country multisite health system research project focused on gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health.
  2. Participate in systematic reviews in the research areas of gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health rights.
  3. Work with fieldworker supervisors who collect data in multiple countries, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  4. Prepare and contribute to the writing of research findings for publication in reports and peer-reviewed journals.
  5. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of senior researchers and technology professionals.
  6. Manage research documentation and data using SharePoint and other relevant tools.
  7. Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and research proposals for submission to ethics committees.
  8. Coordinate and participate in team meetings, providing insights and updates on research progress.

Qualifications:
Education: At least a Master’s Degree in a health-related field (e.g., Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing)

Experience: Proven experience in gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health research. Experience with publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals is essential.

Skills:

  1. Proficient in using SharePoint for research documentation and data management.
  2. Strong analytical and statistical skills.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, structured environment.
  5. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  6. Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards in research integrity and ethics.
