Job description

Job Opportunity: Electrical Maintenance Supervisor

A reputable chemical manufacturing company based in Kempton Park is seeking a qualified Electrical Maintenance Supervisor.

Purpose of the Job

The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor reports to the E&I Manager and is responsible for:

  • Appointed as the OHS Section 8.2 for electrical works on site to ensure compliance with the OHS Act, Pressure Equipment Regulations, and General Machinery Regulations.
  • Understanding and enforcing the Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements, conducting legal inspections and risk assessments, and maintaining safety standards across all plants.
  • Planning electrical work execution in line with maintenance strategies on the CMMS (SAP system), engineering standards, and asset integrity philosophies, including statutory compliance and reliability improvement processes.
  • Organizing electrical personnel and materials to ensure statutory compliance and plant reliability.
  • Leading electrical personnel to ensure maintenance strategies, legal, and engineering standards are met, enhancing plant reliability and safety.
  • Controlling electrical infrastructure and resources to ensure continuous operational availability and safety of personnel and machinery.
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years in engineering / maintenance management.
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience.
  • At least 5 years working with MV / HV systems.
  • Minimum 3 years with emergency systems such as generators and UPS.
  • Experience with rectifiers or large variable speed drives (advantage).
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
  • Technical and supervisory knowledge of electrical installations in chemical plants.

  • Familiarity with SANS standards and occupational health and safety regulations.
  • SHEQ and safety work permit training.
  • Knowledge of area classification standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Digilex, and SAP CMMS.
Personal Circumstances
  • Ability to obtain a medical clearance from the company's medical centre.
  • Availability for standby duties if required.
Other Details

Salary: RK per annum, negotiable based on experience.
