Job description

Maintenance Technicians (FMCG Manufacturing) required in Ladysmith.

An opportunity for experienced Maintenance Technicians (FMCG Manufacturing experience only) is available for permanent employment based in Ladysmith.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Filling machine equipment experience (req).
• Installing equipment and maintaining equipment.
• Reading diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Installing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
• Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
• Adjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts
• Operating machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machineries.
• Ensuring operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications, and installations.
• Sharpening and maintaining machine tools
• Participating in the PM program on all equipment for continuous improvement of all machines
• Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
• Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work on machineries.
• Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances
• Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area
• Performing other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Trade certificate (Electrician / Millwright / Fitter and Turner).
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience (dependent on level of responsibility) as a Millwright, Fitter and Turner or electrician.
• FMCG Manufacturing & Supply Chain production / factory / plant experience essential).
• In-depth knowledge of construction equipment and machinery.
• Completion of an accredited certificate program.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent mathematical skills.
• Must be able to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to work shifts on attendance basis.
• Valid code 08 driving license.
