Account Manager - Advertising (Marketplace Sponsored Product Ads)

Cape, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for an Account Manager - Advertising to join our Takealot Group Advertising team in Cape Town.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Driving the adoption and usage of Takealot's self-service advertising platform for Sponsored Advertising by Marketplace sellers.
  2. Analyzing sales metrics and advertising data to identify trends and areas for improvement for self-service users.
  3. Providing sellers with data-driven insights and recommendations.
  4. Building media plans for top-spending sellers and identifying upselling opportunities.
  5. Coordinating asset collection for campaign creation and execution.
  6. Managing campaign integration into the marketing calendar and ensuring timely delivery.
  7. Supervising billing and payment processes for accuracy and timeliness.
  8. Monitoring campaign performance, sharing results with clients, and maintaining documentation.
  9. Meeting and exceeding advertising sales targets.
  10. Developing promotional materials to encourage platform adoption.
  11. Supporting Marketplace Account Managers and troubleshooting account issues.
  12. Implementing new seller acquisition strategies.
  13. Gathering seller feedback to enhance the platform.
  14. Collaborating on case studies and educational webinars to promote platform usage.
  15. Escalating operational issues to technical teams.

  • E-commerce experience is a plus.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
