Role Purpose

The purpose of the Portfolio Manager role within our dedicated investment team is to construct and manage our local and international investment portfolios to deliver returns in excess of our client's expectations, considering mandate risk and return objectives.

Requirements
  • Qualifications: Qualification in Investments Management, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent. Regulatory qualification either under FAIS or JSE to give advice and exercise discretion. CFA / CAIA qualification advantageous.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience in Asset Management or Portfolio Management.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Management of investment portfolios based on local and international mandates and their respective risk requirements.
  • Focus on day-to-day operational portfolio management and monitoring of investments.
  • Manage and respond to compliance issues.
  • Monitor multiple portfolios' risks and returns.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of markets, economics, company analysis, and valuation.
  • Review and implement investment recommendations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and provide technical advice.
  • Ensure compliance with mandates and internal policies.
  • Contribute to the profitability of the asset management business unit.
