Job description

We are currently seeking a talented Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing Land Systems division.

The Role :

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and integration of complex mechanical systems for military and commercial land platforms.

You will work across the full lifecycle of projects from concept and prototyping through to validation, manufacture, and in-service support.

Key Responsibilities :
  1. Lead mechanical design activities across multiple projects, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality
  2. Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using CAD software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, or Siemens NX)
  3. Conduct engineering calculations, DFMEA, and tolerance stack-ups
  4. Liaise with cross-functional teams including electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineering
  5. Support prototype build and testing, and resolve technical issues through to production
  6. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
  7. Ensure compliance with relevant defence standards and engineering regulations
Requirements :
  1. Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  2. Minimum 5-8 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the defence or heavy vehicle sector
  3. Strong background in land systems, armoured vehicles, or similar mechanical platforms
  4. Proficiency in 3D CAD and PLM tools
  5. Working knowledge of materials, structural analysis, and thermal / mechanical system integration
  6. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
