About The Role

1. Work at the tier 1 & 2 to deliver Asset Care functional expertise across the area/site and lead the shift Asset Care Technicians and support asset care support team to resolve complex equipment problems.
2. Actively lead and sponsor capex and innovation activity at site level.
3. Lead and advocate good governance around internal and external compliance (health & safety, quality, and environment).
4. Accountable for specialist improvement activity related to Continuous Improvement.
5. Provide high levels of specialist support to the operations teams.
6. Proactively lead on performance analysis that drives improvement actions addressing adverse performance trends.
7. Lead the MMS Asset Care deployment within the Asset Care areas of responsibility.
8. Work with Operating Equipment Manufacturers to drive faster problem solving and greater plant availability.
9. Support the delivery of outstanding performance in all aspects of the balanced scorecard (Safety, Quality, Environment, Asset Care, Delivery, Productivity, Cost, and Morale).
10. Deliver and improve performance targets in safety, quality, service, cost, and asset care.

Experience / Skills Required:

• A qualified time-served trade (Mechanical) or equivalent is essential.
• Relevant IBD qualification (General Certificate in Spirits/Beer Packaging) or willingness to complete.
• Minimum N6 or equivalent trade test.
• Minimum of 5 years in an FMCG environment, preferably bottling.

Additional Experience:

• Ability to manage people performance, coaching, and development of a multi-disciplined team.
• At least 5 years supervisory experience in an operations environment.
• Proficient in MS Office, SAP, and Diageo-specific systems.
• Understanding of Asset Performance and maintenance philosophy with excellent Process Improvement and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of plant operations, Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, or Manex methodologies.
• Expertise in RCPS, 5S, Set Up Time Reduction, Autonomous Maintenance.
• Basic financial awareness, budgeting, and project management skills.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Environmental legislation and standards.
• People management practices.
• Understanding of production & supply chain management, Capex, R&M.
• Deep knowledge of ME, packaging, lean methodologies, process control, RCM.
• Experience with SAP or MRP systems, Planned Maintenance, Environmental, and Quality systems.
