Job description

An excellent career opportunity for a motivated individual exists for a Quality Supervisor, reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager. This position will be responsible for the control and management of the Quality Assurance Department, the Services Department, as well as fully responsible for the applicable certified ISO systems and the FSC program. The goal is to ensure client satisfaction, compliance with all quality policies and procedures, support for corporate growth, and maintaining external certifications.

The Cost to Company package varies depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the Services Department:
   • Manage processes and systems.
   • Monitor operations and equipment.
   • Regulate waste effectively.
   • Ensure plant efficiency regarding quality, cost, and delivery.
2. Quality Systems Management:
   • Maintain ISO and FSC compliance, procedures, and certifications.
   • Ensure ongoing compliance via internal audits.
   • Address quality issues with internal teams and customers.
   • Complete reports, CAPAs, and customer questionnaires professionally.
   • Assist customers with training to promote the brand.
3. Audits:
   • Lead and coordinate internal ISO and FSC audits.
   • Implement corrective actions.
   • Advise management on best practices.
   • Represent the company in external audits.
   • Participate in supplier audits.
4. People Management:
   • Lead and manage staff effectively.
   • Monitor performance and provide feedback.
   • Prevent performance gaps through training and coaching.
   • Foster a positive work environment.
5. Safety:
   • Comply with legislation and policies.
   • Ensure subordinates follow safety regulations.
6. Housekeeping:
   • Regularly inspect environment and equipment.
   • Conduct audits and delegate corrective actions.
7. Waste Management:
   • Implement waste reduction strategies.
   • Manage Baler & Shredder teams.
   • Handle stock returns and equipment maintenance.
   • Coordinate waste collection and invoicing.

Candidate requirements:

• Grade 12 Certificate
• NQF Level 6 qualification in engineering, quality, or science
• Formal B Tech (Quality) or H Diploma (Quality Management)
• ISO Implementation and auditing course
• 4 years FMCG production experience
• 3 years in Quality Management Systems
• 2 years in dies, stereos, and inks
• 2 years in ISO and FSC audits
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, leadership, and computer skills
• High motivation, responsibility, and attention to detail
