Job Summary
The Risk Data Manager is responsible for end-to-end risk data management, including developing forward-thinking analysis, generating management reports, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, scaling and automating processes to deliver risk data timely, with quality, controls, and governance. This enables effective risk management reports, forecasts, and business performance analysis for Retail Risk teams.
Job Description
Data Management:
- Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly data to the Retail Risk teams, including:
- Acquisition data across Retail products for models, reporting, and scorecards
- Portfolio data for impairment, capital models, and risk strategy
- Collections data across Retail for models, reporting, and scorecards
- Maintain control environment for data delivery across platforms
- Manage batch bureau data delivery, ensuring data is fit for business and delivered on strategic platforms.
- Develop and implement risk data architecture and strategy for data platforms.
- Manage risk data migration, decommissioning projects, and assess impacts and re-points.
- Integrate platforms to meet business needs.
- Enable sustainable decommissioning of legacy infrastructure without impacting business operations.
Data Visualization / Reporting:
- Create visual representations of official data reports for better understanding.
- Clean, organize, and verify large datasets for analysis and visualization, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Develop dashboards, data quality monitors, interactive reports, charts, and graphs using tools like MS PowerBI and QlikView.
- Continuously seek innovative solutions for analysis, reporting, and data measurement.
- Oversee business intelligence data analysis and visualization.
- Improve processes using technology to ensure scalability with minimal human intervention.
Data Governance:
- Maintain control environment for bureau data.
- Implement effective governance frameworks supporting internal controls and alignment with AGL data policies.
- Ensure compliance with RDARR, support audit, and compliance teams.
People:
- Lead, develop, and manage a team with data expertise.
- Collaborate with technology and data teams across the organization to identify viable data solutions.
- Work with risk and data engineering teams to identify process improvements, system modifications, and develop data governance controls.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Informatics, or a related technical field.
Technical Knowledge and Preferred Experience:
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in data management and business intelligence.
- Minimum 4 years of management experience in banking.
- Experience performing root cause analysis on data and processes.
- Experience in data warehousing, architecture, governance, modeling, dashboard creation, and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of data infrastructure, platforms, ETL, and big data concepts.
- Experience leading projects such as migrations and decommissioning.
- Familiarity with reporting and BI tools like QlikView.
- Understanding of operating systems like UNIX and LINUX.
- Experience with database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, Hadoop, and SAS.
- Exposure to cloud platforms like Azure and AWS.
- Knowledge of data management principles and data integration fundamentals.
- Ability to work with structured and unstructured data sources.
- Proficiency in managing the data lifecycle.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education
Bachelor’s degrees and advanced diplomas in Information Systems, Mathematics, or related fields are required.
