Temporary Breastfeeding Support Group FacilitatorWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to help set up and facilitate a breastfeeding support group.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nutrition science and be in the process of pursuing the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential.
This role involves organizing group meetings, providing support and guidance to breastfeeding mothers, and fostering a welcoming and informative environment.Facilitation and Support : Lead and facilitate breastfeeding support group meetingsProvide evidence-based information and support to breastfeeding mothersOrganization and Setup : Assist in setting up the physical space for group meetings, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environmentCoordinate scheduling and logistics for group sessionsEducation and Information : Share educational materials and resources related to breastfeeding and nutritionStay updated on the latest research and best practices in lactation supportCommunication : Maintain clear and open communication with group members, addressing any concerns or questionsCollaborate with healthcare professionals and community organizations to enhance support servicesReporting and Feedback : Gather feedback from participants to continually improve the support group experienceReport on group activities and outcomes to supervisorsMinimum Requirements : Pursuing IBCLC credentialsStrong understanding of breastfeeding and lactation principlesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to create a supportive and inclusive environmentOrganizational skills to manage group logistics effectivelyEmpathy and patience in dealing with diverse group membersWork Schedule : Flexible hours with the possibility of evening or weekend meetings.NC State University is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
