Role specifics: Permanent position - subject to probation period
Hours of Work:
Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Friday: 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Role summary:
We’re looking for a highly motivated and results-driven individual to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of e-commerce operations, digital marketing, and customer success. You'll be responsible for managing and optimising our online sales channels to ensure a seamless customer experience and drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Website management: Optimise our product information and 2 ecommerce websites:
- Customer service: Responding to customer emails and chat queries, and assisting with returns, exchanges and refunds in accordance with company policy.
- Product management: Listing new products, maintaining / updating existing products and brand catalogue integrity, writing product descriptions, updating and editing product images, and ensuring products are categorised and linked correctly with tags.
- Order processing: Using the e-commerce systems to check orders, picking, packing and dispatching orders securely and meticulously, coordinating order fulfilment with relevant suppliers, marketplace warehouses and logistics partners.
- Stock control: Monitor stock levels, ensure accurate inventory records, assisting with quality control, receiving deliveries and moving / co-ordinating stock between the stockroom and retail locations / warehouses.
2. Marketplace Management: Focus on growing revenue on Takealot, Makro & Marketplace platforms:
- Product management: Listing new products, maintaining / updating existing products and brand catalogue integrity, writing product descriptions, updating and editing product images, and ensuring products are categorised and set up correctly.
- Stock control: Monitor stock levels, ensure accurate inventory records, communicating with marketplace customer service with discrepancies, booking stock deliveries and moving / co-ordinating stock between the stockroom and retail locations / warehouses.
- Customer service: Developing strong relationships with key people to develop sales and marketing strategies and reduce inefficiencies.
- Promotions: Coordinate promotional activities, product launches, and seasonal campaigns.
3. Marketing: Develop quarterly marketing plans to: launch new products, nurture and upsell:
- Email: Create and optimise outbound email campaigns as part of our product release schedule.
- Whatsapp: Targeted outbound marketing campaigns.
- Linkedin: Develop outbound campaigns for company and product managers.
- Tools: Create tools like buyers guides, income/saving calculators, etc for our marketing material.
- Social: Post articles, promos and product releases to our social channels.
4. CRM Management: Maintain our CRM, integrations and workflows:
- Data Management: Ensuring our customer and deal information is correct and up to date.
- Workflows Support: Maintaining our automated workflows (Zapier, Hubspot, Xero, Linkedin).
5. Skills & Experience: Non-negotiable requirements:
- Extensive experience with online marketplaces like Takealot and Makro, with hands on experience in returns, stock disputes, stock management, promos.
- Minimum 2 year working experience in Ecommerce or digital marketing.
- Very High level of computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office, Gmail, CRM system.
- In-depth knowledge of e-commerce platforms (Shopify/or similar).
- Proficient in English & Afrikaans (advantageous) language, reading, writing, speaking.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Own transport / the ability to commute to Bruma, Johannesburg.
Advantageous
- Experience with marketing automation tools (e.g. Zapier, Hubspot, Mailshake, Mailchimp, etc).
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, SEO tools).
- Experience in email marketing, paid search, and social media advertising.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced e-commerce or retail environment.
