  • Completion of the proposed separation of Kidney Care from Baxter into a standalone company (to be named Vantive) remains subject to the satisfaction of customary conditions.

Business Development Lead (SADC and Sub-Saharan Africa) will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic business opportunities that drive growth, profitability, and market share, with a focus on Peritoneal Dialysis and Acute Therapies. This includes collaboration with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, medical, and governmental affairs, to ensure alignment and effective execution of business development strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve company growth objectives.
  2. Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, including partnerships and collaborations.
  3. Analyze market trends and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  4. Create and present business cases to senior management for review and approval.
  5. Negotiate and finalize business deals and agreements.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, medical, and governmental affairs, to ensure alignment and effective execution of strategies.
  7. Monitor and report on the performance of business development initiatives, including ROI and other key performance indicators.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in business development, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  3. Proven success in identifying and executing business opportunities.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze market trends and the competitive landscape.
  5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  6. Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective strategies.
  7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business development software.
