Responsible for system solution sales of Automation and Communication (AC) business within Power Grid Automation BU in accordance with strategy. Build long-term customer relationships and manage resolution to specific customer needs and issues.
How you'll make an impact :
- You will support and grow sales within Automation (Substation Protection and Control) and Communication in Southern Africa, supporting the full sales process from promotion, product homologation, distributor channel development, to direct sales to the market. You will create added value for the customer and Hitachi Energy, ensuring successful transactions, contracts, and proposals by using effective sales techniques, communicating details in accordance with Hitachi Energy's offerings and strategy.
- You will prepare sales plans using company tools, perform regular status reviews, and propose recovery plans in cases of potential order shortfalls. You will identify sales opportunities and use CRM tools to record and share leads, maintain direct relations with customers, and lead negotiations.
- You will ensure most competitive offers, considering market conditions and customer requirements. You will identify the best approach (e.g., direct sales, consortium, or channel) to better serve the customer, support bid/no-bid analyses, and participate in project risk review processes. You will engage in external relations with customers, channel partners, and distributors, as well as internal collaboration with account managers, bid and proposal teams, solution line specialists, and regional management.
- You will lead and be accountable for maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environment to ensure Zero Harm. You will ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies and procedures, conduct proactive risk assessments, and monitor corrective actions.
- You will embody Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your actions while caring for colleagues and the business.
- You should hold a degree/diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- You should have more than 8-10 years of experience in a technical sales role, with knowledge of Grid Automation (Automation and Communication) portfolios.
- Experience in the electrical industry within utilities, Power T&D, or Power Systems projects, especially in substation automation and communication, is advantageous.
- You should have advanced computer skills across MS Office, MS Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to express opinions and work with multiple stakeholders.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential, given the global working environment.
