Job description

Landis+Gyr (Pty) Ltd is part of a global organization engaged in the design, production, and distribution of energy metering and energy management products.

The "Quality Control Inspectors" are integral to the manufacturing process, ensuring that products leaving the facility meet the established "CSDS" specifications.

Their compliance is verified through random sampling inspections as detailed in relevant documentation.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Manufacturing

• Conduct random sampling inspections of meter batches manufactured at the production facility.
• Ensure inspections are carried out timely.
• Perform random patrol inspections on production lines to prevent known quality issues.
• Inspect batches produced by subcontractors.
• Maintain a cooperative approach with the production team.
• Ensure all tools and jigs are in good working condition.

Documentation

• Use the latest revision of relevant documents for all inspections.
• File departmental documentation securely for easy retrieval.
• Record inspections in the QC Inspection Log.
• Issue Batch Rejection Certificates for failed batches.
• Report non-conformities promptly to the Product Quality Manager.
• Document patrol inspections on the QC Patrol Inspection Sheet.
• Identify and document new quality issues.
• Maintain a focused approach to quality details.
• Be willing to go the extra mile to ensure exceptional service.
• Continuously seek to improve inspection processes.
• Possess good interpersonal skills to liaise across departments.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
