A leading company in Johannesburg seeks a skilled professional to oversee project planning, mechanical design, and process improvements. The role includes supervising engineers and ensuring optimal operations through employee training and troubleshooting production issues.
Develop plans to successfully complete projects in a timely and cost-effective manner by ensuring all required information from customers, engineering, tooling, quality, and production is considered during planning.
Maintain process parameters and adjust as necessary.
Assist in cost estimation and quoting for new and revised products by initiating quotes based on specifications, determining process methods, required equipment, and optimal rates.
Be responsible for mechanical design and redesign, including equipment and machinery.
Lead in identifying and implementing effective solutions to improve manufacturing processes and capabilities. Develop and redesign facility layouts to support these objectives. Promote continuous process improvements.
Assist in resolving production problems by acting as a troubleshooter for existing processes at the assigned facility or department as needed; notify supervisor accordingly.
Develop and maintain all supporting documents related to activities in an organized manner for easy retrieval and review.
Develop and implement employee training on new processes and equipment with proper documentation to ensure optimal operation and employee safety.
May supervise engineers and technicians. This position interfaces with peers, production employees, and other company managers.
