Job Description: Providing accurate cost & financial information and appropriate guidance to assist in managing business planning and cost analysis processes for respective business units.

This includes data analysis, cost planning, forecasting, stakeholder engagement, scenario formulation, and reporting to provide comprehensive insights.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cost Accounting, Revenue, and Budget Controls
2. Business Support: Providing commercial and cost management support & guidance to the Mining System Workshop business area and stakeholders such as Facilities, Security, Information Management, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Environmental, Safety, Finance, and General Management.
3. Non-Charge Cost Review: Ensuring valid classification of non-chargeable costs.
4. Budgeting & Forecasting: Facilitating planning with budget holders, reviewing inputs, and proposing cost-effective measures.
5. Cost Analysis: Analyzing variances and making management recommendations.
6. Cost Drivers: Reviewing and proposing amendments to cost drivers for shore-based areas.
7. Cost Reporting & Presentations: Preparing reports and presentations for management.
8. Revenue: Reviewing commercial cost close-out and submitting billing requirements.
9. Scenarios & Modelling: Supporting financial modelling and scenario planning.
10. SAP System: Maintaining project systems, ensuring budget control, and assisting with testing.
11. Month-End Procedures: Running settlements, assessments, and journal postings.
12. Compliance: Preparing VAT return schedules and payment documentation.
13. Fixed Assets: Confirming asset capitalization and facilitating asset scrapping.
14. Accounts Payable: Reviewing supplier payments and posting transactional documents.

Qualifications:

BCom Accounting Degree with strong cost accounting knowledge.

Experience & Skills:

Minimum 3 years in financial and cost accounting, with proficiency in Excel and SAP advantageous. Core competencies include strong interpersonal skills, stakeholder management, accuracy, resilience under pressure, teamwork, analytical thinking, creativity, independence, and enthusiasm for supporting business and compliance.

Additional Details:

Salary: R 28,000 – R 33,000 per month, based on experience.
