YOUR DAY-TO-DAY LIFE

We are looking for a Level 1 IT Support Technician in Ormonde, Johannesburg, Gauteng, ZAF. Your mission will be to:

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Provide initial technical assistance to users and support activities on company systems, focusing on troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues related to lab equipment and systems. Responsibilities include installing and configuring hardware/software, troubleshooting, repairs, user training, and documenting issues to minimize downtime and ensure client satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure data and information integrity across the company.
  • Implement IT projects aligned with company growth and needs.
  • Evaluate IT operations and recommend improvements.
  • Manage quality, timeliness, and costs of IT projects.
  • Ensure security of information systems and communication lines.
  • Support backup and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Establish infrastructure to support IT efforts across divisions.
  • Support users with troubleshooting, installation, configuration, repairs, training, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with IT personnel and vendors for complex issues.
  • Maintain lab equipment inventory.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the line manager.
YOUR PROFILE
REQUIREMENTS

Education: A+/N+ and MCDST certifications; MCSA is an advantage.

Experience: Minimum 5 years in IT support, including hardware troubleshooting, Microsoft OS and Office support, server support, network troubleshooting, and database support (advantageous). Experience with laboratory equipment and procedures is a plus. Knowledge of AWS, Hyper-V, Google enterprise.

Competencies: Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, excellent communication, customer service orientation, ability to support IT environment, coordinate operations and projects, troubleshoot using diagnostic tools, proficiency in Microsoft Office and third-party applications like Google enterprise, and ability to work independently and under pressure. Fluent English; regional language skills are an asset.
