Job description

Inbound Destination Management is looking for a Direct Travel Specialist with experience handling inbound bookings to Southern Africa for direct clients. This role is based in Sandton.

Experience required:

  • At least 5 years of reservation experience in an inbound tour operating environment
  • Good knowledge of destinations such as Tanzania, Kenya, Zanzibar, Zambia, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, Rwanda, Uganda, Seychelles
  • Understanding of FIT and Groups policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills and command of the English language
  • Experience with Tourplan reservations system; advantageous

Duties include:

  • Maintaining calm and professional interactions with suppliers and travel planners via phone and email
  • Creative planning and designing of itineraries
  • Handling reservation requests via email or phone
  • Processing reservations from quote to finalization, including invoicing and travel documents
  • Providing professional service to dynamic direct guests
  • Proactively selling products and services to ensure the best safari experience for guests
  • Supporting colleagues during their absence
  • Expanding product knowledge through training sessions
  • Participating in Saturday, public holiday, and cell phone duty on a rotational basis
  • Working shift hours (07:00 – 15:30 & 09:30 – 18:00) on a rotational basis
