Job description

A unique opportunity is available for a General Practitioner to join a specialist

neurosurgery private practice based in Bloemfontein. This role is ideal for a doctor with

at least 2 years of experience post-community service, looking to expand their scope in a

hospital-based, specialist setting.

Position Overview:

Role: General Practitioner – Neurosurgery Practice

Location: Private Practice, Bloemfontein, Free State

Type: Full-Time

Hours: 45 hours/week (limited overtime; occasional weekend ward rounds)

Salary: R65,000 – R90,000 CTC/month (negotiable based on experience)

Start Date: ASAP, with a trial period prior to formal employment

Minimum Commitment: 12 months

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Assist the neurosurgeon with theatre lists and perioperative care

• Conduct ward rounds and patient follow-ups

• Manage clinical correspondence, referrals, and documentation

• Support with patient education and liaison

• In time, scope to participate in minor procedures and research projects

Ideal Candidate:

• MBChB with Independent Practice registration

• Completed community service + minimum 2 years post-comm service experience

• Holds all relevant professional insurances (malpractice/professional indemnity cover

through MPS, EthiQal, or similar)

• Reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
