A leading company in the sports betting industry is seeking a Financial Manager to maintain financial health and stability. The role involves full financial accounting, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with various stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor of Commerce degree, 3+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency in Xero and Excel.
To maintain the company's financial health, stability, and growth by effectively managing resources, adhering to regulations, and making informed financial decisions.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor of Commerce Degree / CA (SA)
Minimum 3 years' experience in a sports betting environment – Not negotiable
Experience in drafting and preparation of monthly management accounts
Experience in preparation of financial statements
Knowledge of Xero accounting system
Key Responsibilities :
Full financial accounting function for the sports betting operations using Xero account software including but not limited to :
Maintenance of bank accounts and mobile monies accounts, including bank reconciliations
Assist with daily, monthly, and year-end processes
Manage operating expenses, reconciliations, and submissions
Process accounts, including general ledger activities, month-end accounting, and reconciliations
Prepare tax packs and submissions
Assist with regulatory compliance and report submissions to regulatory bodies, including tax filings
Liaise with auditors for year-end audits and the preparation of AFS
Coordinate with stakeholders such as betting software providers, office managers, and bankers
Assist with payroll management and administration
Strong technical accounting skills
Detail-oriented
Strong knowledge of tax rules, with the ability to learn regulations in other jurisdictions
Excellent computer skills, especially in Excel and Xero
Understanding of business processes
Analytical skills
