Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Development (ECD) Coordinator for our East London on-site facility in the Eastern Cape. You will oversee the ECD program, guide educators, and ensure the well-being and development of young children in a nurturing learning environment.

The role requires a recognised qualification in ECD or Education and at least 3 years in ECD with supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Development or Education.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an ECD setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or coordination role.
• Strong knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and implement engaging curriculum activities.
• Proficiency in record-keeping and basic administrative tasks.
• Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with young children.
• Understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
• Must be able to work full-time on-site at the East London facility.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all aspects of the Early Childhood Development program.
• Supervise, mentor, and support ECD educators and staff, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
• Develop, implement, and review a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets educational standards.
• Ensure the safety, health, and well‑being of all children in the program.
• Conduct regular assessments of children's progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians.
• Organize parent-teacher meetings and workshops to promote family involvement in education.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and developmental milestones.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant ECD regulations and licensing requirements.
• Source and manage educational resources and materials for the ECD program.
• Liaise with external stakeholders, including educational authorities and community organizations.
