Placements24 in East London is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Development (ECD) Practitioner and Curriculum Lead to deliver engaging learning and lead curriculum development for preschool learners.

The role combines hands-on teaching with leadership, curriculum planning, and staff mentoring, ensuring alignment with SA ECD policy and safety standards.

A recognized ECD qualification (NQF 4/5), 5+ years' experience including 2+ in leadership, and First Aid certification are required.

Qualifications

• Recognized ECD qualification (NQF 4/5 or equivalent).
• Proven ability to develop and implement engaging curricula.
• Strong observation, assessment and documentation skills.
• First Aid certification is essential.
• Knowledge of the South African ECD policy framework.

Responsabilités

• Plan, prepare, and deliver developmentally appropriate and engaging lessons for preschool children.
• Oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of the ECD curriculum.
• Ensure the curriculum aligns with national ECD standards and best practices.
• Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for holistic development.
• Observe and assess children's progress, documenting their learning.
• Communicate with parents about progress and school activities.
• Lead and mentor other ECD practitioners, providing guidance and support.
• Manage classroom resources and maintain an organized learning space.
• Foster positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal requirements for ECD centers.
