Edustaff in Johannesburg is seeking a capable leader to head a private nursery school, drive enrollment, and manage daily operations while promoting growth and excellence.

The role requires strategic outreach to the community, collaboration with schools nearby, and hands-on leadership of staff, parents, and service providers to sustain high standards of early childhood care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in early childhood education or management.
• Strong communication, organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HR functions including mentoring, employment, disciplinary procedures, and training.
• Handle daily operations such as security, stock management, equipment maintenance, staffing, and problem-solving.
• Maintain clear communication with parents, staff and service providers, including events and reports.
• Manage kitchen operations, ensure food availability, purchasing, and health and safety compliance.
• Fulfill administrative responsibilities such as rostering, newsletters and using software tools.

Are you ready to lead a nursery school that shapes the early experiences of young children while ensuring smooth operations and growth? An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated professional to address key challenges in student enrollment, team leadership, and daily management in a well-established, privately owned nursery school committed to excellence.

Manage student acquisition and enrollment processes to support ongoing growth. The principal would need to play a major role in the growth of the school. Taking initiative to make suggestions on ideas to do marketing, campaigns, reaching out to the community, developing relationships withthe primary school across the road etc. The school is currently at 40 learners

Duties:

• Oversee HR functions, including staff mentoring, employment, disciplinary procedures, and training
• Handle daily operations such as security, stock management, equipment maintenance, staffing, and problem-solving
• Maintain clear and positive communication with parents, staff, and service providers, including organizing events and preparing reports
• Manage kitchen operations, ensuring food availability, purchasing, and compliance with health and safety standards
• Fulfill administrative responsibilities such as report checking, rostering, event planning, termly newsletters and using various software tools

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in early childhood education or management
• Strong skills in communication, organization, and time management
• Ability to lead and mentor staff effectively
• Proficiency in event planning and administrative software

Familiarity with the following:

• Early childhood development (ECD) industry standards
• Educational administration and operations
